Pyrrolidine (45.2 g; 0.650 mol) was added dropwise to a solution of l-bromo-4- (bromomethyl)-2-chlorobenzene (168 g; 0.590 mol) and Et3N (98 ml; 0.708 mol) in THF (q.s.) (500 ml). The reaction mixture was stirred overnight. The mixture was washed with water, separated, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated. The residue was purified by column chromatography over silica gel (eluent: CH2Cl2). The desired fractions were collected and the solvent was removed. Yield: 50 g of intermediate 80 (31 %).
