Steps:
2 Step 2-2-Methyl-4-nitro-pyrazole-3-carboxamide
To a mixture of methyl 2-methyl-4-nitro-pyrazole-3-carboxylate (10.0 g, 54.0 mmol) in THF (20 mL) was added NH3.H2O (27.3 g, 740 mmol, 30 mL, 95%). The reaction mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 16 hours. On completion, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (8.80 g, 95% yield) as white solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.46 (s, 1H), 8.29 (s, 1H), 8.26 (s, 1H), 3.86 (s, 3H).
