r002441step 3: To a solution of 72b (414.4 mg, 1.676 mmol) and 3:1 THF:MeOH (5.6 mL) was added 2.0 M aqueous KOH (2.1 mL, 4.19 mmol) and the solution stirred at RT for 2 h. The organic solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue diluted with 20% IPA/DCM and then acidified to pH 3 with 1.0 M HC1. This mixture was twice extracted with 20% IPA/DCM and combined extracts were twice washed with water, dried (Na2S04), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to afford 352.8 mg (90.3%) of 74a. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ = 13.80 (s, 1H), 3.69- 3.54 (m, 3H), 3.36-3.32 (m, 1H), 2.43-2.24 (m, 2H), 1.40 (s, 9H).
