General procedure for preparation of quinoxaline-2,3-diols using DES-1(Method 1)
General procedure: A mixture of choline chloride (0.28 g, 2 mmol) and oxalic acid dihydrate (0.25 g,2 mmol) was stirred and heated to 100 C for ca. 30 min to form DES-1. Arene-1,2-diamine (1.4 mmol) was added to the eutectic mixture and stirred for 2 h at 100 C. Hotwater (20 mL) was added to the resulting reaction mixture with rapid stirring. The precipitatedsolid was collected by filtration and recrystallized from ethanol to afford thepure quinoxaline-2,3-diol 1.
