Steps:
1-Methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid hydrazide(5)
A mixture of 1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (4) (0.01 mol) and hydrazine hydrate (0.025 mol) in ethanol (20 mL) was refluxed for 6 h. After completion of the reaction (observed by TLC), the mixture was cooled to room temperature and filtered. The crude product was recrystallized from ethanol to give 1H-indole-4-carboxylic acidhydrazide (5) in pure form.
