Steps:

1-(5-Methyl-1-phenyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one (3).

General procedure: Phenyl azide (2), 1.19 g (0.01 mol), was added to a solution of 1 g (0.01 mol) of acetylacetone (1) and 1.38 g (0.01 mol) of K2CO3 in 10 mL of DMSO. The mixture was stirred for 3 h at 25°C and poured into ice water, and the precipitate was filtered off and recrystallized. Yield 1.7 g (85%), whitepowder, mp 98°C (from EtOH).
