Preparation of 1,1',1''-(((1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)tris(oxy))tris(benzene-4,1-diyl))tris(ethan-1-one) (T)
A mixture of acetophenone (3 mmol, 0.360 g), NaOH (3 mmol, 0.120 g), and 20 mL distilled water was added to a suspension of cyanuric chloride (1 mmol, 0.180 g) in 25 mL dry acetone at 0-5 °C. The mixture was stirred at this temperature for 4 h, monitoring the reaction by TLC (CHCl3:MeOH 3:1). After reaction completion, the solid product was removed by filtration and washed twice with distilled H2O. All synthesized compounds were recrystallized from EtOAc (Scheme 1).
