Steps:

At room temperature (about 20 °C), add 165g of 2,4-dichlorofluorobenzene, 330.0g of dichloromethane, 10g of ferric chloride to the reaction flask, turn on stirring, maintain the system temperature of 25-35 °C and slowly add bromine dropwise, a total of 170g of bromine is added dropwise for 2 hours. After the end of the reaction, it was reduced to 15~20 °C, and 10% sodium sulfite aqueous solution was added dropwise until the reaction was also non-oxidizing, and the organic layer was degraded to obtain 2,4-dichloro-5-bromofluorobenzene solid 247g, with a gas chromatographic detection content of 98.3%.
