General Procedure for Synthesis of Phenylhydrazone Derivatives 3
General procedure: The following components were added to the reaction vessels: arenediazonium tetrafluoroborates (5 mmol), active methylene compounds (6 mmol), NaOAc (12.5 mmol), silica gel (4 g, 100-200 mesh). Stainless steel balls were then added and the vessel was closed with a lid and gasket. The ball mill was then run at a milling cycle with a rotational speed of 1290 rpm at room temperature. The reaction progress was monitored by TLC taking out a mixture sample and dissolving it in EtOAc. At the end of the experiment, all the reaction mixture was washed off the vessel using EtOAc(20 ml) and then filtered. The filtrate was dried (Na2SO4) and evaporated. The products were obtained by column chromatography(petroleum ether / EtOAc).
