Steps:

Preparation of 1.2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine hydrochloride

2.2051 g (0.02 mol) of 2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine was weighed into a 100 mL round bottom flask, 50 mL of anhydrous methanol was added and stirred to dissolve; 2.3722 g (0.01 mol) of nickel chloride hexahydrate was added to the above solution. The reaction mixture was heated to reflux for 48 h. After the reaction was completed, the reaction solution was filtered while hot, and the filtrate volatilized naturally. Crystals precipitated after several days.The crystals were washed three times with petroleum ether and n-hexane and vacuum dried for 30 min to give the desired product in a yield of 40%,
