4.1.1 2-Chloro-1-(2-chloro-10H-phenothiazin-10-yl)ethanone (2b)
General procedure: To the solution of 10H-phenothiazine 1 (5.0 g, 25.11 mmol) intoluene (75 mL) was cooled to 0 C. To the above solution chloroacetylchloride (3.0 mL, 37.6 mmol) was added and reactionmixture was heated at 80 C for 12 h. The reaction mixture wasallowed cool to room temperature, concentrated under reducedpressure (<45 C) and to the crude material water (50 mL) wasadded and extracted with dichloromethane (2 50 mL). Organiclayer was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and the solvent wasremoved to get compound 2a as off white solid
