6.1.1. General procedure for synthesis of N-(4-substituted-phenyl)-2-chloro-acetamide II (i-xi)

General procedure: Substituted aniline (0.01 mol) I (i-xi) and Dichloromethane (20 ml) were mixed in a conical flask and Chloroacetylchloride (1.02 ml; 0.01 M) in a separating funnel was added drop by drop to the conical flask. The reaction mixture was stirred for 4-6 h resulting in the formation of white precipitate. The product obtained was filtered, and washed with a little cold water and recrystallized from water or from methanol or ethanol either alone or dilute with water.
