Steps:
Step B To a mixture of the acetal from Step A (2.8 g, 17 mmol) in dichloromethane (30 mL) was added 4 A powdered molecular sieves (-5 g), 4-methylmorpholine N-oxide (5.0 g, 43 mmol) and finally TPAP (0.2 g). The resultant mixture was stirred vigorously for 3 h at which point the reaction was complete. It was filtered, evaporated, and purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel. Eluting with hexane: ether (1: 4) gave the title compound (2.67 g, 96%).
