Steps:
6-(Tritluoromethyl)pyridine-3,4-diamine
To a stirred solution of 5-nitro-2-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-4-amine (ig, 4.83mmol) inMeOH/EtOAc (1.5:1) 50% Pd/C (ig) was added at room temperature. The reactionmixture was stirred at room temperature for 5h under H2 atmosphere (latm). TheTLC showed the reaction to be complete. The mixture was filtered through a celite bed and washed with MeOH (5OmL). The filtrate was evaporated under vacuum to afford 6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine-3,4-diamine as a viscous liquid. Yield: 700mg (81%); 1H NMR (400 MHz; DMSO-d6): 7.69 (5, 1H), 6.82 (5, 1H), 5.73 (bs, 2H), 5.08 (bs, 2H); MS (ESl+) for CHNOS m/z 178.03 [M+H].
