II.1 1 Preparation of compound ZED1657
30.0 g (214 mmol) of 2-hydroxy-3-nitropyridine and 40.5 g (2 eq) of chloroacetic acid were suspended in 600 ml_ water. At 40°C, 245 g (3 eq) trisodium phosphate dodecahydrate were added, and the reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight. 250 ml_ HCI (32%) were added, and the suspension was stirred for another night at 4°C. The precipitate was filtered and dried. Yield: 41.2 g, 97% ESI-MS: 199.3 [M+H]+
