Synthesis of intermediate 15
The carboxylic acid methyl ester derivative 14 (2.00 g, 8.25 mmol, 1.0 eqiuv.) was dissolved in THF (dry) (20 mL) and the solution was cooled to 0°C. To the solution 2.4M LiAliL/THF (4.5 mL, 10.70 mmol, 1.3 equiv.) was added dropwise and stirring was continued at r.t. for 2h. The reaction mixture was cooled to 0°C and H20 (0.4 mL) was added and stirred for 5 min, then 4N NaOH sol. (0.8 mL) was added and stirred for 10 min, after that H20 (1.2 mL) was added and stirred for 10 min. Precipitate was filtered off and filtrate was evaporated, giving the desired product 15 (1.76 g, 99%).
