General procedure: To a solution of corresponding carboxylic acid (1 equiv) in CH2Cl2 was added oxalyl chloride (1 equiv) and a few drops of DMF. The resulting reaction mixture was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. Diisopropylethylamine (2 equiv) and the requisite aryl alcohol (1 equiv) were added and the mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was purified by column chromatography under the conditions specified to afford the final product.
