Sodium tetrahydroborate (0.41 g, 0.011 mol) was added in small portions to a solution of 4-[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxycyclohexanone (1.0 g, 0.0044 mol) in methanol (10 mL) at -50° C. The mixture was gradually warmed to RT, and was diluted with ethyl acetate. The organic solution was washed with NaHCO3 solution (7.5%), water, and brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated to yield the desired product (0.94 g, 93%) which was directly used in next step reaction without further purification. LCMS: (M+H)+=231.2.
