Step F: Sulfuric acid (0.5 m L) was added to a solution of 5-bromoisothiazole-3-carboxylic acid (1.26 g, 6.06 mmol,1.0 eq.) in MeOH (50 mL). The reaction mixture was refluxed at 65°C for 16 hours. The mixture was cooled downto room temperature and quenched with a saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution, and the aqueous layer was extractedwith EA. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated to give methyl 5-bromoisothiazole-3-carboxylate (1.30 g, 5.85 mmol, 96.6% yield) as a yellow oil.
