The obtained product was analyzed by HPLC and it was found that the purity was 98.20% containing impurities, i.e., (2-aminothiazole-4-yl)-(E)-methoxyiminoacetic acid in an amount of 0.23% and dithiazoleacetic acid derivative in an amount of 0.20%. By using 20.1 g (0.1 mol) of the 2-(2-aminothiazole-4-yl)-2-(Z)-methoxyiminoacetic acid, the procedure same as that of Example 1 was repeated to obtain 23.5 g of the 2-(2-chloroacetylaminothiazole-4-yl)-2-(Z)-methoxyiminoacetic acid. The yield was 84.7%. The obtained product was analyzed by HPLC and it was found that the purity was 98.60% containing impurities, i.e., 2-(2-chloroacetylaminothiazole-4-yl)-2-(E)-methoxyiminoacetic acid in an amount of 0.11% and chloroacetyldithiazoleacetic acid derivative in an amount of 0.13%.
