Ethyl 2-(3-(phenoxy)propoxy) acetate (compound B17-3) (4.75g, 18.78mmol) was dissolved in methanol (40mL), and then wet palladium / carbon (1g, 10wt%) and acetic acid (0.5mL) were added to it, the hydrogen balloon was replaced three times, the reaction solution was warmed to 40 °C, stirred for 16 hours. TLC detection reaction completely, filtered with diatomaceous earth, concentrated under reduced pressure, to give crude ethyl 2-(3-hydroxypropyl)acetate (compound B17-4) (3.0g, yield 98%).
