After compete add Won, the coong bath was removed and stirred for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was dHuted w[th MTBE (300 m) and poured nto 2M HO (200 m’). The organic phase was washed wfth water and (200 mD and brine (200mD, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo to yed the product as a mixture of dastereorners (82.9 g) as a dear shghty yeflow hqud. From 12.0 g of the crude product, (1s*,2R*,6S*)2,6 dmethycydohexano (3.85 g, 29%) was soated by chromatography over sWca ge (hexane: MTBE = 9:1).
