To a solution of anthranilamide (7.0 g, 51.41 mmole) in CHCl3 (260 mL) was added pyridine (8.13 g, 102.8 mmole, 8.28 mL) followed by slow addition of w-anisoyl chloride (9.20 g, 53.94 mmole, 7.35 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 6 h and then concentrated in vacuo and subsequently dried under high vacuum for 4 h to give the product. (13.89g, mmol, 100%)
