340 mg of 2-Methyl-5-(3-nitro-phenyl)-[1 ,3,4]oxadiazole and 5 mg of palladium on charcoal (10%) in 30 ml of EtOAc are flushed with hydrogen gas and stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen for4 hours. The mixture obtained is filtered through celite and the filtrate obtained is concentrated.3-(5-Methyl-[1 ,3,4]oxadiazol-2-yl)-phenylamine is obtained.
