Reaction Conditions:

Steps:

After dissolving 44.8 g (0.2 mol) of 4,4'-diformyldiphenylmethane synthesized by the JP 2005 - 154379A with the synthesizing method of the description to 200 ml of t-butanol, and 50 ml of water, In addition, 50 ml of dibasic-sodium-phosphate aqueous solutions and 140g (2 mol) of 2-methyl-2-butenes obtained the reaction solution by adding the sodium chlorite 36g (0.4 mol) further. Next, the solid was deposited by acidifying a reaction solution for this reaction solution after 5-hour churning using the 1-N solution of hydrochloric acid. Then, the solid which deposited the reaction solution in which the solid deposited after suction filtration using water was washed. By vacuum drying the obtained solid (compound), 39.8 g (83% of yield) of 4,4'-dicarboxydiphenylmethane was obtained.
