To a solution of compound 101 (5.5 g, 19.1 mmol) in EtOH (100 mL) (in a 500 mL hydrogenation bottle) was added Ra-Ni (1.9 g). The mixture was hydrogenated at room temperature at 50 psi under H2 for 20 h. The reaction mixture was then filtered through celite, and the filtrate concentrated in vacuo to provide compound 102. Yield: 4.7 g, 95%.
