Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1: 1H-imidazolewith pyridine;triethylamine for 0.5 h;Cooling with ice;
Stage #2: benzoyl chloride for 0.5 h;Cooling with ice;
Stage #3: with sodium hydroxide for 1 h;Reflux;

4.3. General procedure for 2r and 2t

General procedure: The imidazole (1 mmol) was dissolved in (10 mL) pyridine. Then3 mmol triethylamine was added to the solution. The mixture wascooled with ice-water medium and stirred for 30 min. Aroyl chloride(1.5 mmol) solution which was prepared in 3.5 mL pyridine, was addedto the imidazole solution as dropwise. After the reaction was stirred30 min, 5M 20 mL NaOH solution was added and final mixture wasrefluxed for 1 h. After reaction completed judged by TLC, acidic workupwas progressed. Organic phase was collected with EtOAc. EtOAcphases were evaporated and crude product was purified by columnchromatography (1:5, EtOAc:n-hexane).
