Tetrabutylammonium fluoride (6 mL, 1.0 M in THF) was added to the tetrahydrofuran (7 mL) solution of 5-acetylamino-5-trimethylsilanylethynyl-2 -nicotinic acid methyl ester (1.46 g). The reaction was stirred at 70 0C for 4 h then the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and was concentrated. The residue obtained was diluted with water. The solid thus separated was filtered and was washed with water. The solid was dried under high vacuum and was used as such for the next step without any purification (Yield: 0.69 g, Rf: 0.37 min, Condition B, M+H+: 177).
