Representative Procedure for the Preparation of Compounds 2
General procedure: To a suspension of L-amino methyl ester hydrochloride 1 (30.0 mmol, 1.0 eq.) in CH2Cl2 (400 mL), Et3N (8.363 mL, 60.0 mmol, 2.0 eq.) and diluted 2-chloro acetyl chloride (2.390 mL, 30.0 mmol, 1.0 eq. with CH2Cl2) were added slowly at 0°C. The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at r.t. and then washed with H2O, neutralized to pH 7 with a saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution. The organic layer was separated, dried with anhydrous Na2SO4, and evaporated under reduced pressure. The crude mixture was purified by column chromatography (eluent: n-Hexane / Ethyl acetate) on silica gel to afford the desired product 2.
