Yield:13419-69-7 99%

Reaction Conditions:

with diphenyl diselenide;dihydrogen peroxide in water at 20; for 6 h;Green chemistry;

Steps:

3.2. General Procedure for the Synthesis of Carboxylic Acids 2
General procedure: Diphenyl diselenide (3, 0.006 g; 0.02 mmol) was treated with H2O2 (30%·w/w, 0.1 mL, 1 mmol) andwater (0.2 mL) and stirred at room temperature at 800 rpm until the discoloration of the reaction mixture;then, the aldehyde 1 (1 mmol) was added. After 6 h, the aqueous mixture was extracted three times withEtOAc (3 × 20 mL). The collected organic layers were dried over Na2SO4 and the solvent evaporatedunder reduced pressure.
