N,N-Bis(4-sulfobutyl)-3,5-dimethylaniline disodium salt (MADB) is an important colour-forming reagent used in the quantitative detection of glucose. The function of MADB is to undergo an oxidative coupling reaction with 4-aminoantipyrine (4-AAP) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and horseradish peroxidase (HRP), producing a coloured oxidised complex [1–3]. | [References]
