- 7-fluoro-6-methoxy-1-methyl-2-naphthaldehyde
- 5,7-difluoro-6-methoxy-1-methyl-2-naphthaldehyde
- liquid crystals with terminal difluoromethoxy group and backbone of phenylbicyclohexane
| [General Description]
The IR and FT-IR spectra of 4-bromo-2-fluoroanisole have been investigated. | [Synthesis]
(a) Synthesis of 2-fluoro-4-bromoanisole: Add 128 g (1.016 mol) of 2-fluoroanisole and 250 ml of chloroform to the reaction vessel. Under stirring conditions at room temperature, 177 g (1.106 mol) of bromine was slowly added dropwise for not less than 3 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was poured into dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide solution to separate the chloroform layer. The chloroform layer was subsequently washed with saturated sodium chloride solution and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was removed by distillation and the residue was distilled under reduced pressure to give 2-fluoro-4-bromoanisole. The yield was 192 g (yield: 92.3%) and the boiling point was 107°-116°C (25-31 mmHg). | [References]
