mixture of alcohol, base, Pd(dba)₂, and ligand A was loaded into a Schlenk reaction tube. The mixture was thoroughly degassed by purging with vacuum and argon. Chlorobenzene and toluene were added, and the mixture was heated at the reaction temperature until the reaction was complete (all starting alcohol was consumed, as determined by GC-MS). The reaction mixture was dissolved in diethyl ether and washed with H₂O and brine. The organic phase was dried over MgSO₄, filtered, and concentrated under vacuum. The crude product was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the product, levorotatory camphor. | [Uses]
