Morin is a natural pentahydroxyflavonol with antioxidant activity. It reduces CD36 expression and oxLDL uptake in U937-derived macrophages, inhibits PIM-1 kinase in vitro (IC50 = 2.7 μM), and reduces the activity of cytochrome P450 isoform 3A4 in liver microsomes. A method for static adsorption of morin (or a similar pigment) from *Phellinus linteus* fermentation broth using macroporous resin:
1) Fermentation of *P. linteus* to produce broth.
2) Filtration and pH adjustment of the filtrate to 5.

Stir morin at room temperature with ten times its weight of absolute EtOH, then leave overnight to settle. Filter it off, and evaporate under a heat lamp to one-tenth its volume. An equal volume of water is added, and the precipitated morin is filtered off, dissolved in the minimum amount of EtOH and again precipitated with an equal volume of water.
