NDSB-211 is a non-detergent sulfobetaine that has been used as a mild solubilizing and stabilizing agent for halophilic malate dehydrogenase, halophilic elongation factor Tu, pig heart amylate dehydrogenase, chicken egg white lysozyme and E. coli b-galactosidase.
Definition
ChEBI: NSDB 211 is an ammonium betaine derivative of propanesulfonic acid. One of a group of non-detergent sulfobetaines having a sulfobetaine hydrophilic group and a short hydrophobic group that cannot aggregate to form micelles.
