Momordicoside A is a glucoside that could be extracted from the bitter melon vine with methanol. Bitter melon vine extracts are often used as a laxative, antidiabetic and an anthelmintic in traditional medicine. Monordicoside A is a potential antidiabetic agent used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus type II by preventing the digestion of carbohydrates.
