Tripelennamine citrate, 2-[benzyl[2-dimethylamino)-ethyl]amino]pyridine citrate (1:1),PBZ (Pyribenzamine Citrate), is available as a monocitratesalt, which is a white crystalline powder freely soluble inwater and in alcohol. A 1% solution has a pH of 4.25. For oraladministration in liquid dose forms, the citrate salt is less bitterand thus more palatable than the hydrochloride.
