| Preparation | Aluminum triphosphate is produced by the reaction of aluminum hydroxide and phosphoric acid. The reaction proceeds in the following steps: (1) Neutralization reaction: Al(OH)3 + 3H3PO4 = Al(H2PO4)3 + 3H2O (2) Polymerization and dehydration reaction: Under heating conditions, a polymerization and dehydration reaction occurs: Al(H2PO4)3 ==> AlH2P3O10 + 2H2O (3) Combining with water molecules: AlH2P3O10 + 2H2O = AlH2P3O10.2H2O | | Application | Aluminum tripolyphosphate (ATP), as a novel environmentally friendly rust-inhibiting pigment, has gradually replaced traditional heavy metal rust-inhibiting pigments in the field of anti-corrosion coatings due to its environmentally friendly and pollution-free properties. Aluminum tripolyphosphate is widely used in various primers and topcoats, exhibiting good compatibility with varnishes. It can be used in combination with various pigments and fillers, as well as various rust-inhibiting pigments, to prepare a variety of high-performance anti-corrosion coatings.
