Block voltage-dependent sodium channel, make conduction block, produce anesthetic effect.
Local anesthetics have lipihilic effect, and the non-dissociated type is the necessary condition for penetrating into the nerve, and the dissociated charged cation must be transformed into dissociated type after penetrating the nerve to play its role. Different local anesthetics have different dissociative/non-dissociative proportions.
The strength of local anesthesia is 10 times that of procaine, and the effect can be maintained for 2 ~ 3h, with strong penetration. Mainly used for surface anesthesia of eyes, nose, throat and urinary tract. Absorption can cause convulsion, then respiratory depression, generally not used as infiltration and conduction anesthesia.
