Dienogestrel

Use:

Dienogest is a mixed progestogen with dual properties of 19-nortestosterone derivatives and progesterone derivatives; therefore, it combines the pharmacological advantages of natural and synthetic progestins with high progestogenic activity . A large randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted by Harada et al showed that after taking dienogest 2 mg/d for 24 weeks, it improved the symptoms of endometriosis-related lower abdominal pain, low back pain, and pain during intercourse. The curative effect is similar to buserelin, but the adverse reaction rate such as vaginal bleeding and bone mineral density decrease is significantly lower, and the tolerance is better.
