Potassium chloride is a commonly used fertilizer in agriculture (generally referred to as "potassium fertilizer"). KCl is used as a nutritional supplement, a gelling agent, a yeast feed, and a salt substitute. The dye industry is used for the production of G salt and reactive dyes. It is also used in the manufacture of candle wicks, photography, electroplating, and steel heat treatment agents.
