1-(5-Fluoro-2-methoxyphenyl)propan-1-one (0181) MeI (1.12 g, 7.88 mmol) was added to a mixture of 1-(5-fluoro-2-hydroxyphenyl)propan-1-one (1.02 g, 6.06 mmol) and K2CO3 (1.26 g, 9.09 mmol) in DMF (10 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 20 min and was then partitioned in water (30 mL) and Et2O (40 mL). The organic phase was washed with water (2 x 20 mL), dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated at reduced pressure to give the crude title compound as an oil (1.04 g, 91%). 1H NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz) δ: 1.16 (t, 3H), 2.99 (q, 2H), 3.89 (s, 3H), 6.91 (dd, 1H), 7.14 (ddd, 1H), 7.41 (dd, 1H).
