The experimental equipment is mainly a three-necked round-bottom flask, a magnetic stirrer and a constant temperature heating device. 9.62g (0.10mol) of 1,2-dimethylimidazole and 25.24g (0.12mol) of dibutyl sulfate were mixed, and stirred at 45°C for 6 hours. After the reaction was completed, an imidazolium salt mixture was formed. Dissolve 37.86g (0.12mol) of barium hydroxide octahydrate in water to prepare a barium hydroxide solution with a concentration of 10% by mass (that is, a total weight of 378.60g). Under the condition of continuous stirring, the barium hydroxide solution was added to the cooled imidazolium salt mixture, and stirring was continued for 1 hour. After the reaction, the white precipitate was removed by centrifugation and washed with n-pentane three times to obtain a clear solution of 1-butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium hydroxide.The actual yield measured by hydrochloric acid titration was 99.92%.
