General method for the preparation of 2-amino-substituted 7-amino-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazines (3a-l):
General procedure: A mixture of aminotriazole 1 (2.0 mmol),cyanamide (100 mg, 2.4 mmol), and triethyl orthoformate (0.6 mL, 3.6 mmol)in MeOH (2 mL) was stirred and irradiated in a 10 mL vial using a CEM Discover microwave synthesizer (operating in closed vessel, focused single mode at a maximum microwave power up to 150 W) at 150 C for 20 min. After cooling,the precipitated product was filtered, washed with cold MeOH, and recrystallized from a suitable solvent.
