Steps:
5 Example 5: Preparation of methyl 3-(methoxyphenylmethylene)-2-oxoindoline-6-carboxylate
At 63 °C, 1.83g (17.27mmol) sodium carbonate was suspended in 50 ml methanol. Add together 20g (51.8mmol) methyl 1-(chloroacetyl)-3-[methoxy(phenyl)methylene]-2-oxoindoline-6-formate suspended in 400 ml of methanol. Stir for 30 min. Cool to 0 °C, and maintain 2 hours. Yellow solid are obtained after filtering the 15.54g, the target compound, the yield is 97%.
