Steps:
To a solution of compound A0061-1 (1 g,5.43 mmol) in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) (25 ml) was added potassium hydrogen carbonate (KHCO3) (0.54 g, 5.43 mmol) followed by dibromomethane (0.4 ml) and the mixture was heated at 60 0C for 1.5 hours under nitrogen. The reaction was cooled and poured into water (50 ml) . The mixture was extracted with ether. The organic layers were combined, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated to yield a crude oil which was further purified by column chromatography on silica gel (petroleum etheriethyl acetate=5:l) to yield compound A0061-2. (580 mg, yield: 55%, NMR confirmed) as a white solid.
