Steps:

2-Chloro-N-f5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1 ,3,4-thiadiazol-2-vnacetamide

To a mixture of 2-amino-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1 ,3,4-thiadiazole (417 mg, 2.03 mmol) and triethylamine (425 μΙ, 3.05 mmol) in 15 ml dioxane was added drop-wise chloroacetyl chloride (206 μΙ, 2.54 mmol) in 10 ml dioxane over a period of 10 min. The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 4 hours and then poured into 75 ml of water. The resulting precipitate was filtered off and washed with water and dried to give the title product (525 mg, 95%). (0296) LC-MS (ES): 284.1 (M+H), 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 12.96 (s, 1 H), 7.89 (d, 2H), 7.09 (d, 2H), 4.46 (s, 2H), 3.83 (s, 3H).
