7.95 g 1,2-Difluoro-4-nitrobenzene (50 mmol) was dissolved in 100 ml EtOH and 25 ml of EtOH containing 5.6 M dimethylamine was added.
The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 hours.
Then it was poured onto 400 g ice and the precipitated yellow solid was collected by filtration.
Filtrate was washed well with water and it was dried in vacuum desiccator over P2O5. Yield: 8.67 g (94%). Ret. time: 3.87 min., (M+H)+=185 (weak intensity); 1HNMR (DMSO-d6, 300 MHz), δ (ppm): 7.93 (m, 2H), 6.95 (t, J=9.06 Hz, 1H), 3.07 (s, 6H).
