To a mixture of tert-butyl N-(4-piperidyl)carbamate (5.00 g, 24.97 mmol) and l-(bromomethyl)- 4-nitro-benzene (5.39 g, 24.97 mmol) in ACN (25 mL) was added K2C03 (6.90 g, 49.94 mmol) at 25 °C, The mixture was stirred for 12 h. The mixture was poured into water, extracted with EA, and the organic phase was washed with saturated brine, dried with anhydrous Na2S04, and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel to afford the title compound (7.50 g, 89.5%) as a white solid.
