Steps:

In a 500mL reaction flask, add pentaerythritol (30.0g, 220.5mmol),Toluene 195.0g and thionyl chloride (63.0g, 529mmol), after stirring uniformly,The reaction system slowly rises to 75-80°C, and continues to react at this temperature for 24 hours,TLC detects that the raw material reaction is complete. Stop the reaction and reduce the reaction system to 0-5°C,A large amount of solids were precipitated, filtered with suction, and dried to obtain 48.0 g of off-white solids with a yield of 95.4%.
